Title
Cosa, widow of the late Angelo del Piglio: Rome, 1560
Subject
Cosa, widow of the late Angelo del Piglio
Description
The widow Cosa leaves nearly all of her possessions to the confraternity known as the Compagnia di Ghemilut Hasadim. She notes that this generosity comes as repayment for the fact that the confraternity cared for her during her illness, despite the fact that she has relatives. This suggests a use of the will as a public critique of her own family members.
The will is recorded by Leone (father) or Isach (son) Piattelli, Jewish notaries, in Hebrew.
