Title
Palomba, widow of Servedio da Viterbo: Rome, 1607
Subject
Palomba, widow of Servedio da Viterbo
Description
This is not the original will of Palomba. Instead, Palomba here has the Jewish rabbi/notary Pompeo del Borgo annul a specific request in her previously written will. The original will left 25 scudi, the value of the cazacà of her room, to charity ("a chi parve a me"). She now annuls this bequest, instead leaving the same amount to her daughter Honorata, also a widow (the widow of the late Salomone di Tivoli), specifying however that Honorata should only receive the funds after Palomba's death ("impero' intendo che lei non ne possi disporre mentre io son viva").
As such, this document certainly testifies to the existence of an original will, of which this is then a codicil.
