Description
The will of Vidale is known from a responsa of the famed Sevillian rabbi Yom Tom Asevili, the Ritva. She names two executors, her husband Moses son of Galipapa, and her brother, Solomon ibn Albnad. Among the charges given to her executors is to establish a private charitable foundation (heqdesh). She expresses grave concern that the Jewish leadership and community administrators may attempt to reroute her bequests to other charitable causes than the ones she or her executors aims to support.

"And the annual revenue that (the principal) will receive from heaven should be divided annually among the poor and orphaned or for the purpose of marrying off female orphans or any such cause that (the executors) agree on. And all this must be done in the name of the above mentioned Vidale (...). And all this shall be sanctified (kodesh) unto God. There shold not be any access to the above mentioned monies -- the principal and the revenue or the land that they will acquire or anything else from it, no permission, no discussion, no advice, voice or action from the holy community of this city, nor from the masses nor the individuals, nor the leaders, administrators, nor from any person. (...) But only according to Moses Galipapa, the husband, and Solomon bin Albnad or those appointed after them."
